Good luck Elif & Nikola
Following Ada’s remarkable results day, we caught up with Ada Alumni’s, Elif and Nikola, who shared their practical experience at Ada.
It goes without saying Ada is immensely proud of all the students, receiving the best ever result at Ada this year, and we love to hear about where Ada takes them, whether that be to University or landing a cutting-edge apprenticeship placement in the tech industry.
Student Alumni, Elif and Nikola, achieved great results: Elif secured a D*D*D* and Nikola Distinction Star / Distinction for his BTEC and an A* in A-Level Maths, landing them places at top universities.
Elif and Nikola shared their captivating experiences at Ada, highlighting all the opportunities Ada had to offer. This included industry projects with Google, Deloitte and AWS.
Elif thought the industry projects were fascinating, adding “there was a lot of support around us throughout the entire project.”
Nikola, who took part in 4 industry projects, outlined how those projects enhanced collaboration with both Year 12 and Year 13 students, which Nikola felt gave a “better idea of what the community here at Ada is like.”
A highlight of Elif’s experience at Ada included the unique and experiential learning environment, creating “world applicable” lessons and the availability of an industry coach.
Nikola also highlighted the importance of their Ada coaches - industry mentors who meet with their students monthly one a 1-on1- basis - as they offer assistance with personal and professional skills, including self development, building a strong CV and developing interview techniques.
Elif shared, “it’s really nice to have someone who you can talk to regularly and knows what they are doing but it is also a one-to-one so all of the advice is personalised too."
Both Elif and Nikola achieved great things here at Ada. The students highlighted how their journeys enabled them to develop confidence within the tech space, perfect their presenting skills and meet so many passionate teachers and professionals who have guided them in different areas of the technology sector.
We wish Elif the best of luck at Lancaster University studying Computer Science and Nikola an exciting and successful time at Queen Mary University of London studying Robotics Engineering.
