Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement applies to Ada, the National College for Digital Skills website. 

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. To adapt the content to your needs or preferences you should be able to:

  • Zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen

  • Navigate most of the website using just a keyboard

  • Navigate most of the website using speech recognition software

  • Listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

  • Users can not currently change colours, contrast levels and fonts however this functionality is currently being addressed

  • Live video streams do not have captions

  • There’s a limit to how far you can magnify our images

  • Some images which convey meaning do not have an informative text alternative, so people using a screen reader cannot access the information

  • Some of our older Pdfs and Word documents may not provide the information required by assistive technology. We are striving to make older documents accessible and ensuring new Pdfs and Word documents published after September 2018 meet the WCAG 2.1 AA standards

  • Some online forms are not set up correctly to include helpful direction for screen reader users.
