Andrew Butcher is the head of Bank of America Merrill Lynch's Technology & Operations in EMEA. In this role, he provides oversight to all regional Technology and Operations functions and partners with global and regional business executives and regulators. He oversees oversight of T&O for all lines of business across the enterprise that operate in the region, including Global Markets, Commercial, Corporate and Investment Banking, Card Services and the enterprise control functions. Andrew is a member of the Regional Executive Committee and the Global T&O Senior Leadership team.
Andrew joined Bank of America Merrill Lynch in June 2016 from J.P. Morgan where he held a number of senior management positions, most recently as the Chief Administrative Officer, Asia Pacific and Senior Country Officer, Hong Kong. He also served as a member of the Asia Pacific Management Committee.
Prior to joining J.P. Morgan, Andrew spent 23 years at Citigroup in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore after joining Salomon Brothers in 1988. During this time, Andrew was appointed to positions of increasing responsibility, including Managing Director and Head of Technology & Operations for Asia Pacific in 2008, Head of Operations & Technology for the Corporate and Investment Bank in Asia Pacific in 2003 and Chief Administrative Officer for Salomon Smith Barney Asia Pacific in 1999.
Andrew holds an MA degree from Cambridge University.
